THE ORIGINAL ELIZABETH REX REPRISES ROLE

Bess is Back

DIANE D'AQUILA, who originated the role of Queen Elizabeth "Rex" for Timothy Findley in 2000 reprises her Gemini/ACTRA Award-winning portrayal at Chicago Shakespeare Theater opening November 29th. She will be joined by Steven Sutcliffe, the Canadian theatre star who was Younger Brother in the original Broadway production of Ragtime, taking on the role as Ned.

D'Aquila is United States born --- her family moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Minneapolis early in her life and the young Diane's first theater job was as a dresser at the Guthrie Theater.

D'Aquila has become aquainted with the New Place's Robin Johnson and has invited her to the show. TNP's Ned Lowenscroft, Jeff Huset will be joining Johnson on the trip this January.
